My Lord,

In continuation of Sir Geoffry Northcote's

confidential (2) despatch of 31st January, 1940,

forwarding for information a statement of arms and

ammunition which had passed through this Colony in

transit to China during the second half of 1939, I

have the honour to forward herewith a similar statement

for the first half of 1940.

Copies of this despatch and enclosure are

being sent to His Majesty's Ambassadors at Tokyo and

Shanghai, His Majesty's Diplomatic Mission, Chungking,

and the Commercial Counsellor, Shanghai.
